Hydrogel pads and patches used for products

AquaMed gels can be used for a wide range of applications, including bandages and patches similar to products like 2nd Skin®. We can produce hydrogel sheets using PEO/PVP and if desired, we can custom blend gels to include other ingredients as well. The standard gel has several advantages over dry dressings:

  • For existing abrasions or blisters healing rate is faster and gel patches are more comfortable than traditional gauze patches and plastic bandages.
  • Gel Dressings are highly absorbent and are therefore useful for exudating wounds.
  • Patches can be used to protect against blisters, especially on the feet, and create a smooth, comfortable barrier from abrasion caused by shoes and clothing.
  • It is easier to put on and remove patch because the hydrogel can be peeled off without any damage or discomfort to the skin.
