Moist Wound Care With Hydrogel Dressings

AquaMed manufacturers aqueous (water) based hydrogel dressings and other products. Hydrogels are usually nearly clear or somewhat translucent in color, and can be made in varying viscosity or thickness. AquaMed's hydrogel patches and sheets will not bond aggressively to the wound base.


Hydrogel can be used to maintain a moist wound environment when there is granulating wound and to aid in debridement in wounds with necrotic tissue.


Our hydrogel products may also be made with silver fibers, which adds an additional antimicrobial benefit to our products.


AquaMed produces sheet hydrogels consisting of a gel layered on a thin fiber mesh substrate. The dressing can overlap intact skin and ordinarily will not harm it. We can also manufacture our hydrogels are available without adhesive borders and can be cut to fit the wound. A secondary dressing will be necessary if the sheet hydrogel is nonadhesive, as there will be no way to adhere the dressing to the wound. Because the gel is over 99% water, the moist wound care benefits over gauze dressings are numerous.
